I'm Inspired to...

I'm inspired by all of the hats I wear. As a Client Lead, a People Manager and a Capabilities Lead, my roles enable me to do what I am passionate about doing everyday - delivering high value solutions to clients, mentoring others and partnering with colleagues to bring people and organization change capabilities to the market.

Outside the office

My husband and I really enjoy spending time with our son. We live in a walking neighborhood, so we like to put him in the jog stroller, pick up groceries, and just enjoy being outside with him.

Emily
Senior Manager and Client Lead

At CG, I always feel that our people are considered first. Obviously we’re all here to do a good job, and to help the company be profitable, but when you feel valued as a person first and foremost, it makes you want to stay with a company.

Emily, Senior Manager and Client Lead

CG does the right thing for our clients. That’s part of our brand and part of our identity. When our clients approach us with specific needs, we partner with them to understand their challenges. And I think our clients like to know that we’re crafting a custom solution and not just bringing in people to fill slots.

Making a Difference

As a senior manager in the management consulting practice and a client lead, I’m responsible for growing our presence in the associate readiness, learning, communications, and organization effectiveness space. But recently, I had the opportunity to do some internal projects —working with the HR team on initiatives around learning and orientation and helping to design CG’s Emerging Sector client management office. I feel lucky that not only am I able to contribute externally to clients, but I’ve been able to help our company as we’ve grown exponentially over the past couple of years.

Caring for the Community

CG does so many tremendous things in the community. It’s one of the reasons why I’m proud to be an employee of CG. Recently, I spent some time at the Charlotte Rescue Mission serving lunch. The mission serves a group of men who are working hard to get back on track. It was inspiring to see how they’re striving to make their lives better — and I think they were inspired that we took time out of a work day to get to know them and support their efforts.

Outside the Comfort Zone

Being at CG has pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone. As a client lead, I’m getting lots of good experience with relationship building and business development. That’s something that, frankly, I was a little apprehensive about earlier in my career. But CG has such a supportive and collaborative environment that it really encourages me to try new things. I’ve grown a lot, personally and professionally, because CG is such a wonderful place to learn.

The CG Difference

One thing that is unique and wonderful about CG —and certainly a bit different from my prior experience — is the accessibility of our leaders. Their enthusiasm is contagious. Whether it’s a spontaneous run-in in the break room, or scheduled one-on-one time, I have many opportunities to interact with our leadership team and get their insight. Being around them, and hearing words of their encouragement, gives me a boost every day.

Collaborative Culture

We have a very collaborative culture here at CG. Let’s face it, most of us are type A personalities: we’re highly successful, we’re driven, we’re used to being on top. But what is so great about CG is that we truly do work together. So if I get a big win, it feels like the entire company wins. We really foster that spirit, so that instead of it being a competitive environment, it’s a supportive environment. And I love that.
